from crayon box to powering my soul… color defines me

Black and white canvas

Working on a black and white (and some gray) 12×12″ square deep edge canvas, I had the chance (finally) to use my  Kroma crackle I picked up when I discovered the San Clemente Art Supply Store en route to Mission San Juan Capistrano. I think it may work better if there is a heavier coat of paint underneath the Kroma crackle or if it’s not quite dry. I also tried Tsukineko Goosebumps clear texture spray, which I picked up locally at Cool Scrapbook Stuff in Poway, CA. This spray is fun and simple to apply. I love using texture any way I can.

My signature use of Scrabble tiles appears on this canvas, also. Since the tiles are wood I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in black soot and Tsukineko StazOn craft ink pad in Dove Gray.
